Bioinformatics PLACEMENTS
M.Sc. Bioinformatics Programme is in its 12th year and is gathering unprecedented success as far as placements are concerned. It is to be noted that all the students who manage to pass are in for employment over the last couple of years. There exist a large number of vacancies in the industry which has boomed with the emergence of new technologies in this field. The fact of the matter is that there is a terrible shortage of skilled Bioinformatics Professionals.
Another feature of this course is that the highly meritorious students and rank holders opting to pursue academics and research have ample opportunities in research. Most of the centrally funded research institutes hire post graduates in Biotechnology, train and accommodate them in Research Fellow positions due to non- availability of skilled Bioinformaticians. There are many students who hold admirable positions in India and abroad. They are kept in touch through uccbioinfo@facebook.com .
The following are the list of students who have been recruited in the last 2 years. The recruitments are however instigated through Contacts generated through the teachers in the department and with the help of the alumni of M.Sc. Bioinformatics.
