The massive amount of information generated in biology with the advent of the Human Genome Project needs to be retrieved , analysed, interpreted and stored. The Internet and the databases which are the repositories of these informations was a suitable medium for handling biological data.The course was started with the objective to nurture talented students in this field keeping in mind the requirement of trained personnel in this industry.
